ABOUT AFRICAWAD RECYCLING C.I.C
AFRICAWAD RECYCLING C.I.C is a community interest company which is focused on supporting women. The activities of Africawad creates jobs, promotes education and reduces landfill waste both in the North East of England and globally

Our reasons
Working at North East Refuge Service, Afi witnessed the negative impact of isolation on the mental health of women It became apparent that this was a bigger issue that affects several women in the North East struggling to find work and integrate into society

Our Plan
Africawad provides the opportunity for local women in the North East to volunteer their time to help recycle clothes This in turn reduces social isolation, improves self esteem and provides valuable work experience.

Our Success
Several women who volunteered for AfricaWad went on to secure full time jobs through the experience gained from the project Staying true to the goal of empowering women, AfricaWad also uses fund generated to sponsor the education of girls globally

Humanitarian aid
Health is a key sector of humanitarian aid, but also a reliable measure of its impact. Our organization is trying to do as much as it can to intervene in this very important area.
Join Us
We are inviting women who feel isolated in the community to come join us at 203 High Street East NE28 7RS to gain some valuable transferable skills. The project focuses on teaching women how to sell items online and how to provide excellent customer service. Any travel expenses and refreshments will all be paid for thanks to the Big Lottery Fund
